Paul Davies

Professor at Arizona State University, throughout his career, Davies has researched the origin of the universe and life including the properties of black holes and the nature of time and quantum field theory. Apart from being a theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and astrobiologist, he is also a widely published author, and a long time columnist for many newspapers and magazines including Nature and The Economist. In recent years he have also become involved in research on the origin of cancer and its deep evolutionary roots, a subject with important implications for therapy. 

Professor da Universidade Estadual do Arizona, ao longo de sua carreira, Davies pesquisou a origem do universo e da vida, incluindo as propriedades dos buracos negros e a natureza do tempo e da teoria quântica do campo. Além de ser um físico teórico, cosmólogo e astrobiólogo, ele é também um autor amplamente publicado e um colunista de muitos jornais e revistas, incluindo Nature e The Economist. Nos últimos anos, ele também se envolveu em pesquisas sobre a origem do câncer e suas  raízes evolutivas, um assunto com implicações importantes para a terapia.
